Hi Gents,
I am new to the Holden scene and also new to the forum.
Just bought a Holden Calais Vx 5.7lt AUTO. The car has done over 270k but is in a good condition. The problem is when I accelerate flat out from stand still the car pulls really good in 1st gear, as soon as it clicks over to 2nd gear the car has no power(foot still flat on excellerator). After about 5 seconds the car starts to pull like F*kc again. Its almost like a massive surge. Has anybody come across this problem before? Is it a commen problem?
All advice will be welcome.
Cheers
5 seconds is a lonnng time
Does it rev up in the 5 seconds, trans slip
270,000 kms pwoaaa
If you arent able to determine the last time the gearbox was serviced then you should do it, even if we determine its not your problem its very important to change the trans fluid and filter on an high km's car.
Does the car cough or tick during this 5 seconds?
EDIT: As in, does the engine cough or tick?
Cheers for the advice mate.
I am in the process of giving the car a good service, so Ill make sure to change the trans fluid.
The car doesnt cough or tick it just slowly pick up revs as if youve got your foot 1/4 throttle.
