Various cluster lights not working

Hey guys,

My car is a VTII Calais International - Super 6, 90,000KM's - Level 3 Dash

I purchased the car in May with this problem (that I didnt notice at the time).

Various cluster lights dont work (or work properly):
Seatbelt light - Will come on when car is started but will go out within 3 seconds regardless of whether your seatbelt it fastened or not.
Parker light (cluster) - Wont turn on.. ever. The actual parker lights work fine.
Dash buzzer/dinger/overspeed alarm/whatever you wanna call it - Doesnt work.

What lights I know works fine:
Abs, track off, low track, CEL, indicators, low fuel, temp warning, overspeed,

A few months before I bought the car it did have the ABS module replaced.. if that's of any relevance.

No error codes, or dash error codes.

Please no talk of "Cop mode" . This car was previously owned by an old man with white hair coming out his ears.

The seat belt light does only come on for a few seconds when you start the car, it is just a reminder and doesn't light up if your seatbelt is not on. In other words, it's normal.

There is not a light for parker's. Or do u mean when you turn parker's on the dash doesent light up?
The overspeed charm is inside the cluster, so if it is not working, Just open the cluster and see whats going on. wont be a big problem.
No need for talk of cop mode.

If you press ther Mode button while turning on the ignition, the cluster will go into set-up mode (or some such). Then press the mode button several times and one of the settings will show ALL the warning lights, dash messages and activate all the guages. So you can see what is working and what is not.

If all the warning lights are working, then the problem is in the device sending the warning, not the cluster.
(Another setting of the mode button does go into Police mode, but it reverts to normal mode when the ignition is turned off).

Yes I know about the mode+up trip computer tricks and the 'christmas tree' mode. Everything works except the dash buzzer in christmas tree mode.

@vx_commodore: See picture.. although now that I see it illuminated I see its red and has an exclamation point in it.. so then its not for parkers...

It now looks like it's just the dash buzzer that's gone.

I'm amazed that a car made in 2000 with driver AND passenger air bags doesn't remind you to put on your seatbelt.
Even my mums old Daewoo bongs at you to put on your seatbelt.

ummm from memroy, (and feel free to correct me) that light your after is a warning that there is a dud globe somewhere, weather it be a blinker, taillight etc!

And once again, please correct me if im wrong!

Partly correct. If it comes on when the lights a switched on it means there is blown tailight globe or numberplate globe, if it comes on when you brake, it means a brake light globe has blown.

Thanks for all the info guys.

Before I get slapped with the "use the search engine" stick, I have looked and googled and found nothing about the dash buzzer.
If its stuffed, does it mean the cluster has to be replaced?
How does it get replaced?

Wreckers should have them and they are quite simple to install as well! im sure ive seen a few threads with a bit of a how too!

does ur cluster have the digital speedo come on the LCD screen and stay on with out using ur trip buttons? if so some1 may have had the digital speedo put on and that does disable ur speed alert/buzzer.

Nope. As I said. Its untouched by the original owner.

My middle green bulb does not work on the dash cluster (the one that shows total KM's etc on the car)...

I have a WH Caprice with what i would imagine is the full range cluster installed.

Any suggestions on how to remove/change that darn globe?

sounds like a blown bulb lad, The cluster has to be removed and swap the bulb over. not a hard/big job. there is a few threads on how to remove
