Default Power Button came on automatically?

    Hi guys,

    Noticed something odd yesterday.
When I took off from a set of lights, my power light was on.
Now I never drive with the power button on because I just think it's a complete waste of time and pointless in the first place. I certainly don't remember pushing the button when I was waiting at the lights.

Is something anyone has come across before?
It's not done it to me before.

    Cheers,

i say this...on the vs the the power button works this way....down and pressed and locked ..is standard or eco mode...and up is on power mode and non standard........my vt the button up is standard and off and buttn pressed is on and non standard.............so i would say ...if that happened to me ...i would first check the book...manual...and ask here like you have ...and fellow same car owners..and i would find out which is disable mode..with the button removed.and place it in deactive state...and see if the button was the issue....before replacing it...if the button or wire off was an issue you will find it......

Sometimes the spring in the button can come off its base, especially if you take the button out or knock it. But you'll know if that's the case as it will be able to be pushed up and down and just stay wherever. Probably unlikely but just something to check.

In a VT it's a soft button one push to turn on, one push to turn off. Like the power button on a TV remote a press sends a signal to the computer which turns it on if it's on or off if it's off. I'd say you either knocked the button or there is a loose contact somewhere that's shorting the circuit.
