I'm trying to remove the rear brake rotars, and after severel attemps to hit them off with a hammer and mallet they still wont come off.
the brake calaper is off and the handbrake is also off. any advice would be great! cheers
Spray with wd-40 or the like an hit it harder!!!! It will come off.
Take it easy...But do take it...
Do not argue with an IDIOT.
He will just drag you down to his level an beat you with experience.
Some people take me the wrong way, Like smacking up Marijunna.
It feels as though somthing is holding the disc on though. the disc can be moved and it only comes off a little bit then moves back to where it was. almost as if the handbrake is still on ??
The handbrake shoes will be holding it on. Rotate the disc and pull it at the same time. You may have to back off the hand brake adjustment on the lever first as people will adjust them there and then the cable ends pulling the shoes on a bit, this jams the rotor.
has it got mag wheels?....does it have hub adapters?......
Never approach a goat from the front , a horse from the rear or a fool from any direction![]()
ok so back off the hand brake a bit. you do that through one of the holes on the front of the rotor yeah ?.
and nah it's got standard rims and no hub adapters.
i actually disconnected the handbrake cable off the rotor completely. the rotor still wouldnt move![]()
Yes, rotate the rotor so that the largest hole is at the bottom and then using a screw driver, turn the adjuster through that. Can't remember which way it turns to back it off, but you will work it out once you start turning it. It is a wheel with teeth on it and it will either go up or down.
alright thanks for your help !
