drivers window!!!
The missus car (98 vt acclaim) has a little issue where the drivers window goes down fine, but time to go up it goes all the way but stops about 30mm from the top, with a shuddering noise if you continue to push the up button?
Any help would be great!
I Took off the door trim and whatnot and had a look around and noticed when looking down into the door when the window is fully down, that the big semi circle cog thing, has a few teeth missing!
Could this be the problem?
If so how can we fix it??
Replace the mechanism is as far as i know the only way. Pretty sure you cant buy parts to repair them. Check on Ebay.
What would I search under?
Vt power windows?
Ok found one on eBay, the question is, is it easy to replace for a novice?

It's probably not wise to start on something that is a bit difficult. Although you have to start somewhere, you should start with the simple stuff and work your way up. Do you have any mechanically minded friends that could help you. If so, buy a Gregory's manual and it will give you instructions on how to do it as well as a lot of other things. At around $40 it will save you in the long run.

I did it to my VT with no experience there is a tutorial on here about it and tells you what you need it made it really easy to do.

as i have tried to look but no luck
did mine not long ago. you will need a drill to drill out the rivets on the mechanism (4 i think) replace them with bolts its easier, and insert 2 washers on the bottom 2 bolts so when your window is all the way down you dont get that rattling.
