If my VT Executive wagon needs a major overhaul, which it may due to a major overheat, I will probably spring for a low k's later model motor. What is the latest V6 Holden motor that will fit the VT without any major modifications?
Id say a VY should do the trick.
Check out my ride here >>>>My VX Raptor
say NO to chev badges
Wanted To Buy=>> Mace 12mm or 25mm Manifold spacers - VX SS Headlights - VY handbrake complete set up
For Sale=>> vt/vx Berlina/Calais chrome window surround PM me for more details
vx or vy will work i would go with vy.
VY sounds good to me.Thanks.
tried to get some info re price on the net but no luck. What should a VY with around 100,000 k's or less go for?
Wouldn't it just be easier rebuilding your current motor least then you know it's fresh. Km's are only one part of the bigger picture.
Welcome to the internet where people have opinions that you might not like
Aye jindy, are you in jindy like me?
I put a vy motor in my vs 2mths ago. If your nearby i can show you through the differences.
Wraith I would prefer to have a later running low K motor than a rebuild, because I really need the car and rebuilds can take weeks. Thanks for the offer Bowtie but I live in the Snowies and unfortunately you are too far away. Cashman, Who is the best,or should I say trustworthy supplier of these motors?
Dude, i'm sitting in jindabyne.
I got mine from a wollongong wrecker for 930 delivered, 6mth warranty vy 110k.
Put it in myself.
BowTie if I get a VY I will definitely be asking you for advice,
This is what i learned on this site;
"The VY engine is different in a few ways even the spark gap is different but will bolt straight into a VT without any modifications.
Use the VT PCM and wiring loom because the VY is different and trying to use it will cause more trouble than it is worth + you can't "chip" a VY PCM without expert soldering skills."
It appears the major differences are -"The VY has a bigger sump, larger IAC valve. Different inlet manifold."
BowTie do you actually live in the Bine or are you just visting?
yeh, live here.
Green vs sedan. Looks like a rat and often has a yellow canoe on it.
