    Default Latest model motor to fit VT?

    If my VT Executive wagon needs a major overhaul, which it may due to a major overheat, I will probably spring for a low k's later model motor. What is the latest V6 Holden motor that will fit the VT without any major modifications?

    Wouldn't it just be easier rebuilding your current motor least then you know it's fresh. Km's are only one part of the bigger picture.

    Low k's used motor is quicker and a fair bit cheaper. Most come with a warranty if you buy them from a supplier instead of privately.

    Wraith I would prefer to have a later running low K motor than a rebuild, because I really need the car and rebuilds can take weeks.Thanks for the offer Bowtie but I live in the Snowies and unfortunately you are too far away. Cashman, Who is the best,or should I say trustworthy supplier of these motors?

    BowTie if I get a VY I will definitely be asking you for advice,
    This is what i learned on this site;
    "The VY engine is different in a few ways even the spark gap is different but will bolt straight into a VT without any modifications.
    Use the VT PCM and wiring loom because the VY is different and trying to use it will cause more trouble than it is worth + you can't "chip" a VY PCM without expert soldering skills."
    It appears the major differences are -"The VY has a bigger sump, larger IAC valve. Different inlet manifold."
    BowTie do you actually live in the Bine or are you just visting?

    CHEETR, That isn't exactly a great name for someone selling motors. So where are you located?

    Consider a VY V6 supercharged? or VX?
