Engine running rough and stalling

Hey guys just a few quick questions nearly got my new rebuilt engine running fine just a few issues.
When putting in the new engine I broke a wire going to the CAS and one going to the Cam angle sensor I dodged them up with good old black tape because I'm going to take it to the Auto electric guy down the road to fix them up, could this be the reason why the engine won't idle and stall all the time when slowing down? and my other question is do I need to keep the metal guards that cover the knock sensors on because the one on the passenger side has lost a screw and is a little wobbly and is really hard to get to to replace so thinking about taking it off

oh I have a another loom in the shed somewhere would it be easier to just rewire the whole engine with the loom thats not stuffed?

Undoubtedly.

If its 2 wires that are stuffed its hardly worth changing to a new loom.

yep your right I changed over to the the new loom and its still got the same problem its like there is something wrong with the TB when slowing down its not getting a signal to let in air or something like that

Do you have any warning lights coming up on the dash?

Na nothing no error codes or nothing so can't be a sensor thinking it might be the memcal or ECU but just guessing
