vt commodore turn key some times nothing happens sometimes it fires then stops

have a vt at my house
when u put the key in all the lights come up then turn it ti try and start sometimes it will turn over maby half to one turn others nothing at all when it dose turn over it will fire then stop
any idears would be good thanks

the battery in your key is dying

get a new key or resolder in the battery


mine is funny in that the car will fire on the old key if its cold but once its hot... you need the new key

Exactly. If the key fob isn't contacting the slip key reader around the barrel, then these symptoms you mention will occur. Mine did it and I had to pull both keys apart ond fix the connections on the fob and slide it out slightly. Now one key is doing the same thing again.
