    Default Vt ls1 gearbox removal!!!! Need help ASAP!

    Hey guys!
    So the problem being is that on Saturday I blew the gearbox in my vt berlina. It's a auto ls1. I decided to rip it out myself seeing no body is open till Tuesday. Tailshaft is out. Cross member is out most looms that I can see are disconnected. BUT I seem to be having trouble with getting to the cooler lines and Gettin the dipstick out!!! Left it for tomorrow so any advice in the meantime would certainly not go astray.
    Also I have around 2-2500$$$$ to get it rebuilt, hopefully manualised and stalled. What are your thoughts on where to go to get the work done and do I need more cash???? I live brissy north side!
    Any help would be great guys!

    the trans lines are attached to the side of the trans 21mm and 19mm from memory for each one..

    i'd keep you standard stall and spend the money strengthening the gearbox.. many times i have seen them rebuilt to standard specs with a shift kit of some sort only to have the same problem 10,000kms later.

    i know of a number of guys who have had theirs done more than twice and have given up and gone a 400 or something

    Yeah I can see where they are it's just trying to get to then that the problem.

    if your having trouble, undo them from the passenger side of the block they run below the alternator, then two 12mm bolts that hold them onto the side of the motor

    first get a 18mm spanner and get a 16mm crows foot tool and a 6ich Extension and a 3/8 breaker bar
