I have this weird crunching noise coming from the front drivers side suspension of a 1997 Holden Berlina / Commodore. It happens when taking off and also hard turning. It also makes a creaking type noise when hard braking
Have been to the mechanic already 6 months ago for same issue and came away with noise still happening and $600 poorer
Have returned to the same mechanic and now he reckons ball bearing that's at the top of the shock?? I am doubting this as it doesn't sound like its coming from the top of the shock (Don't have many choices in mechanics where I am at!) He also said possibly stabilisers?
Anybody got any idea what this might be as I don't want to be forking out thousands before the actual problem is fixed!! HELP!!
How many KM on the car? Very well could be strut top bearings.

yeah strut top bushes usually make noises under heavy braking and when turning corners. i would put my money on them.
you can pick up replacement strut top bushes, for about 100$ from nothlane.
i had this problem a while ago (my problem was sway bar link pins tho) this might help you a bit, a way to check is....
