Hi, just need some advice. I'm a novice when it comes to cars so afraid of being ripped of by mechanics. 2 problems i was hoping someone could advise on, firstly i have a squeak from the rear at relatively low speed, 40 - 60km/h. its just a squeak squeak squeak as the wheel turns. could this just be the handbrake needing adjusting? the other is, when im braking from higher speeds and applying light to medium pressure my rear brakes squeal. As i apply harder pressure this squealing stops. They dont feel rough or vibrate just squeal. Any ideas? is it glazing, or brakes low? Thanks in advance, Jason. you need new pads or rotors on the rear most likey just new pads to get rid of the sqeaking and dont be cheap with brake pads, get bendix GCT or ulitmates then ask you mechanic to fit them, if you need new rotors you can just run you thumb onthe rotor and the edge of the rotor (outside part) will be very rough and jaggered, and this will mean you need new rotors. hope this helps.
ask for the sqeak when you turn im unsure, hopefully someone can help.

thanks Dan, is it just a matter of taking the wheels off to check the brake pads and rotors? if so im sure my brother can help me out.
yeah take the wheel off and have a look, if you have rims and can see you rotors and pads, will save lots of time.
but either way id change your pads.
