Default Changing Bush on Link Pin

    Hi everyone,

I was getting a knocking sound near the front passenger side and upon having a look discovered that one of the bushes was gone from the stabiliser/link pin. I found this image from Google:

    http://forums.justcommodores.com.au/...t-link-pin.jpg

The missing bush is the second one from the top. It looks straight forward to replace so will try to do it myself.

Are there any special tools that I need?
Is it just a matter of removing the tyre then removing one or both the bolts and sliding the pin out, replace bush and slide the pin back up?
Can I just use the jack that came with the car and jack it up from the jacking point or do I need to use a stand on one or both sides?

Any help and tips would be appreciated.

    Thank you.

It's a straight forward job, but if you only jack up one side of the car there will be pressure on the link pins. Axle stands are ideal and a very good investment if you intend to start doing some of your own work. You could borrow a jack from another car for the other side but I'd be very nervous about the stability of working on a car at all supported only by jacks. Never get under a car supported only by jacks (of any sort).

Have used these before. Worked very well. Jacked up the front of the car. Ripped out the old ones. Took all of an hour for both sides because I couldn't find the shifter spanner.
