hey everyone
as stated above my vt series one feels like it goes sideways under hard acceleration like 0-60 feels like i need to counter steer .
im thinking its some type of bush in the back but not sure where to start anyone with a big boot to kick me in the right direction
also car has 185xxx ks and is lowered enough to tuck some tyre on 235/45/17 if it helps ?
I would almost go so far to say cracked rear cradle if it's that bad. Have you had a camber kit installed? Are the springs cut?
Welcome to the internet where people have opinions that you might not like
I reckon it is a possible cracked rear cradle also.
Take it easy...But do take it...
Do not argue with an IDIOT.
He will just drag you down to his level an beat you with experience.
Some people take me the wrong way, Like smacking up Marijunna.
Cracked rear cradle was my first thought aswell.. Then seen 2 other people thought the same thing.
Or maybe under hard acceleration your wheels are spinning ahaha =P
hahah, springs are proper king springs , 45 or 46 cant remember the other numbers , and no camber kit just got the car of a fella from brisbane and just got rego on it , no one picked it till i wanted to try out a "70s" tune up ....and almost sh#t my daks... so cracked rear cradle you think? whats the next step is it bad ?
The rear cradle is what holds the diff, axles, brakes, wheels, shocks, springs to the chassis.
It's a few hundred labour to get it changed.
If you get another cradle buy one from a VXII-VZ sedan. They have toe links which improve handling and reduce tyre scrub.
Get a camber kit installed before it goes in as well. Save some money on labour later
thanks cashman , vxII or vz will they fit in a 97 vt ?
stroking is fine but id rather be blown
reverse your car a couple of meters, get out and check rear camber, if there's a noticeable difference between each side, then its prob cracked cradle.
Me and my dad were driveing in a vp v8 in the pissing down rain you could just see out the screen doing 110 with trucks up our ass on the freeway to newcastle for a swap and it started fishtailing we got out shook the back wheels all good my dad was red in the face and i was about to sh!t my self good thing was we swaped it and didnt have to drive it backbut we still miss the beast. that was HEKTIC....
anyone know of the top of their head how much a cradle would be and work involved

I got a vz cradle for $100 bucks.
Its a days work with 2 blokes.
I refer to my earlier post:
All that has to be removed. Then take out the cradle (which has the 2 bolts with the highest torque rating of the whole car and will need to be replaced). The rear cradle is what holds the diff, axles, brakes, wheels, shocks, springs to the chassis.
Insert new cradle. Bolt it up. Bolt on all those bits again. Bleed the brakes and your done. Not for the faint hearted this task.
Edit: if your searching ebay. also try "subframe" as its technically called the "rear subframe"
oh.... yeah thats pretty big for me....ummmmm dammit
stroking is fine but id rather be blown
Not to mention you will also need an alignment done when your finished
Edit: OMG mk2. That is just GOLD!! Thats how I talk to my friends
