You count the number of times the check engine light on the instrument cluster. flashes, it's the orange symbol shape like an engine on the left hand side of the instrument cluster

That shouldn't matter, it should still flash when you are in the code checking mode.

You put the car into diagnostic mode by bridging terminals 5 and 6 in the diagnostic connector under the dash. Use a paperclip or whatever. Then turn the ignition switch to the ON position and the check engine light will start to flash on and off. You count these flashes to check the codes. Example- 1 flash, or "tens", followed by two quicker flashes "units" or "ones", represents code 12, 1 ten and 2 units. Each error code will be flashed up 3 times. There will be around a three second pause between different codes if more than 1 code is logged. Code 12 will show up before it shows any logged codes,so make sure you let the test go through for at least a minute or two.Code 12 will also flash up again to show that its at the end of the codes. When theres no logged codes to display,it will just continuously flash up code 12 over and over again.

Just saw that you had it checked. All these problems you mention will effect how the engine runs etc. It wont run properly until all the sensors you mentioned are working correctly. If its got a pod filter fitted instead of the proper airbox, throw it in the bin and fit the proper airbox and filter and connect the air temp sensor up while your at it...If theres nothing else wrong with the car,you will notice a pretty good difference in how the car starts, how it goes, and you will get better fuel economy too.. As I just mentioned, the temperature sensor in the ecotec is in the airbox. The MAF (Mass Air Flow) meter might need cleaning. You can try tapping the MAF (GENTLY) with the handle of a screwdriver whilst the car is idling. If the revs change at all,the MAF is stuffed. The cannister purge solenoid is at the back of the engine on the drivers side. Ive had one of these fail on my VS ecotec and it caused the engine to misfire badly whenever it was started from cold.

There is a differance between reading something an understanding it. by the sound of the OP's posts i dont think he should be working on his car at all.

I was referring to your question "v6 ecotec how do i get to code check mode ?:/" that was explained fully in the link I gave you.
This is the first paragraph of the PDF attached to the first post in the link.
How to test for fault codes
Firstly locate the diagnosis connector under the steering column. You will now need to bridge terminals 5 (earth) and 6 (diagnosis request) using something like a paper clip, piece of solder, etc. Then switch the ignition to the ON position. Read the codes as follows:
