Wanting to fit an LSD to my VT s1 l67 as I'm at the point in mods where my car is almost undrivable in the wet. Can't speed up quick in traffic and have to baby it around town. Just spins. For a hoon would be great but I have 3 children and don't feel like replacing tyres every 6 months. Can I buy an LSD with traction control and hook it up some how? If so how would I go about it? Cheers
If you currently have an open diff an LSD will probably help regardless of traction control.
Otherwise you could try some different rear tyres to see if they disperse water better?
Had the car 6 months now and had a new set of maxxis tyres on when I bought it, due to camber on the fe2 rears chewed through inner edge about 50mm in and tyres are shagged. ATM got my front tyres on the rear and smaller set on the front that have brand new tyres on them. got cat problems to fix this week then next week going 4 new tyres, will go bridgestone. And a 4 point camber kit. Then looking to get LSD. If I can fit traction control while installing it will be good for the wife and kids when I'm at work. and won't have to worry.
Not without a lot of work and hassle. What sort of rims have you got on it. Spend the coin on some good tires then go from there.

Usually it has 17" VX SS rims at the moment using 2 of my old Walkinshaw rims on the front as they don't fit the rear. Going to get the best bridgstones I can buy to fit. As I know well you get what you pay for and no point skimping.
For a start get some good tyres, Maxxis = Shit. I've got Toyo Teo plus on my commy and I can't spin the thing in the dry and in the wet i have to really hammer it to get them to spin
I use Bridgestone adrenalines and I like them and found there good in the wet.i run 225/60/r15

Second Car: 02' VXii Exec 9C1
Take off slower. When I first had the truetrac put in a basically stock l67 shit got hektic in the wet. Just learnt to only accelerate in straight lines and just pussy it.
My tyres are starting to rot though so neweez might sort me out
If that doesn't work then I suggest save the coin get your missus a corolla.

Problem is you can only pussy it so much before your causing to much problems for other road users. she's getting an sv6 at the end of year for Xmas and I'm going a2a so need the LSD. So it can be done, what's involved installing traction control. Not really caring how hard it is to do. If it can be done I want to do it .
Traction control isn't possible on the VR's. I wouldn't bother with an LSD a true trac would be much more preferable.

I wouldn't bother with trying to install it....fairly sure it requires a change of loom, as well as BCM plus it works through the ABS so if the car hasn't got ABS you'd have to install that too
For reference my vy has traction control and an LSD. If I boot it, even in the dry with new potenzzas it will slide.
But the wheel spin is nothing compared to the open diff on my ecotec. That was terrible.
My old man has a xr6t. LSD and no traction control. With the wanli tyres it came with (from previous owner) you couldn't keep it straight in the wet, new set of good year eagle f1s and it hasn't broken traction since.
I don't like traction control I usually turn it off, if you need to boot it the computer gets worried too easily and cuts the ignition and the pedal like kicks your foot off. even 1st to 2nd change sometimes I can hear that stupid pedal motor/cruise control motor or whatever it is kicking in and I am being gentle lol. Just have to learn to be super gentle and smooth and you wont even need traction control.
the 1st gen. TC on these cars is rubbish anyway
i wouldn't bother
Hmmm so just go the LSD and the decent tyres + camber kit. I was looking at getting the adrenalines. see how I go for now.
Get some Pirelli PZero nero's fitted (or better Pirelli's) and they will get you traction, I have between 130-134rwkw and when I floor it in the wet they barely spin!
VT V6 fitted with DMS gold 40mm coilovers, Whiteline adjustable swaybars & strut brace, 330mm AP racing brakes, Rebuilt 3.45:1 LSD and a Powerdyne supercharger

Wheels did a recent tyre test if it means anything the Goodyear Eagle F1 assymetric 2 tyres came out on top. Your paying top dollar though. Oh and the Pirelli's came in dead last

my right foot is my traction control. unfortunatly its also my lack of traction control.
My SS has tc and im not even sure it works, I get some pretty major wheel spin when it hits second hard (A4), and it doesnt seem to make a difference if tc is on or off.
will have to ask my tuner if her disabled it without me knowing.
No Michelin's this year.
