Hey, so ive been to about 10 different panel beaters today getting quotes on repairing my spoiler holes, best price was about $450 which included blending into quarter panels next to boot using 2pac paint, everywhere else was 500-650 just painting the boot and no blends, then another 200-400 to blend the panels, im thinking them guys were just trying to rip me off. Do you think im best going the $450 option seeing its still 2pac paint which is would should be used right? thanks
called up about 10 wreckers and all the vx boots with no spoiler in my paint code had small dents and stuff in them, im guessing if i find one with some light scratches that will be fine too? can just cut and polish, dont want dents though :/
Or you could buy a spoiler.......That would fill the holes nicely.
could probs pick up a boot with no holes for cheaper than that off ebay/other forums people wreck commys everyday.

what if you bought a differant coloured boot with no holes and no dints and get that painted, would be cheaper then bogging your holes and repainting it?
advertise your boot and spoiler as a swap for a stock boot in same colour
you'll find some p plater jump at it you may even be able to charge for the swap
....go to the top of the class LOUT!........how simple is that?
If your car is silver then I doubt it very much that even if you find a boot with the same paint code that it will blend perfect. If I was you I would buy a second hand boot and get it matched to your car, any other option you take you will notice it's not quite right and it will bug you forever just thinking if you spent a little more it would look better.
I bought a dead straight boot lid a couple of years ago for $50, had the badge holes welded and both inside and out painted for $250, came out great and couldn't be happier with it.
Na I didn't go the quarter panel blend, I was assured they could match the color to the point you cant notice any difference and you cant notice it no matter how hard you look so I'm pretty rapt with it. I do have a fairly dark color but if your car is silver I would definitely go the blend as silver is the hardest color to match. If you do go to the trouble of removing the spoiler holes then I would recommend getting rid of the badge at the same time also as it gives it a nice clean look.
Buy a new silver boot a wreckers were we are want $120..
