Red face so i may have destroyed my radio plug :(

Hey guys, start off by saying hi as its my first post, despite it being a help me I may be screwed post.

So I had to replace my radiator which required taking the battery out, which reset the stock headunit. Code was 5646 to turn it back on but the 4 didn't work lol so long story short I bought a Kenwood headunit with two wiring harnesses that would connect the headunit to the stock radio plug with no soldering needed cause i suck at delicate jobs lol.

All went well radio removal, cradle insertion, then I came to plugging the adapters in. Plugged the harnesses to the stock radio, and then attached the other end to the hu. Heard the cd player whirring so didn't bother to chuck the faceplate on And see if the display worked. Then I inserted the headunit in, chucked the faceplate on. Now here was the problem, when I turned the ignition the mp3 player didn't work. I got worried now, pulled it out checked everything was attached which it all was. No go.

Then grabbed the stock headunit plugged it in, that didn't work either. So now I'm crapping my pants because from what I can tell the radio plug has either short circuited somehow as the plug looked completely fine to me. I have no idea what to do now and would really appreciate some help. I have no electrical tools nor knowledge to test voltages, power etc, but will buy if I have to. Any help would be much appreciates guys. thanks in advance.

I would of gotten it professionally installed but I'm a uni student, and the 80 bucks jbhifi charges is a lot for me these days.

    Parts are,
    Kenwood u349r
    Aerpro Vt adapter
    Aerpro Kenwood adapter

check your fuses under the steering column first. make sure none of them are blown, then check the stock unit again

Sorry how do I tell if its blown? I pulled the 7.5a fuse accordingly to the diagram one the plastic. And it looked fine. Had dad double check who said no problem with the fuse. Chucked it back in checked both head units. Nothing

So it did end up being the fuse which kept on blowing as the harness had an small exposure which kept blowing the fuse everytime it made contact with the compartment inside. Thanks guys for the help
