im wondering if anyone has installed or got a MACE cold air intake or even the equivelent from other perfomance places,
(the ones where a pod is placed in a enclosed box) fitted to there vt/vx ss, gen 3/ls1.
i wanna know weather they are worth the money, in terms of performance gain, throttle responce and fuel economy?
or should i just leave it stock?
To get noticeable performance, you need to spend noticeable money. You spend little, that's what you'll get.
In my opinion, don't bother, spend the money on looks before performance unless you're prepared to go BIG.

When I light the nitro on my HQ 454 Monroe!
"If they r worth the $$" u ask; Most definitly.Altough not much of performance but in terms of economy and throttle responce, the diff is very noticeable.Very happy with MACE CAI,well worth the money
i think in combination with other mods its worthwhile
my car came with an OTR and it makes it louder esp. on acceleration
they are expesnive right? Like $500?:
also cops don't like them
Yeah the OTRs are from $300-$650 depending on brands and finish (carbon fibre, plastic or chrome)
And then you have to have a MAFless tune too.
If went with a otr, how much is too much for the otr itself?
I saw one on ebay today that suits with maf fitted still so you don't need mafless.

Can all OTRs be bolted on with our needing a mafless tune?
There's a RAMJET otr on eBay $450, worth a bid?
I have been quoted from $700 - $1050
for a mafless tune alone, is this too much? Or reasonable?
If its a dyno tune sounds about right, if its a remote/mailorder tune no.
Take it easy...But do take it...
Do not argue with an IDIOT.
He will just drag you down to his level an beat you with experience.

Getting tuned at the shop
That price would be about right then.

OTR fitted and MAFless tuned all for 1k!
I'm thinking so!!!
Buy extractors and some form of exhaust, cost you the same amount(assuming these $1-1.2k figures) for MOAR POWA(theoretically). You could also send your trusty screwdriver down into the cat and smash all the plates out, there is your high flow cat, and then a flow through muffler(Disclaimer: do this at your own risk, if the EPA jump on your nuts, don't say I didn't warn you). HOWEVER, assuming your mixture is correct, all your exhaust should be is CO2 and water vapour, negating the need for a cat(alytic converter, before somebody tries to hook a real cat into their exhaust system and wonder why it doesn't purr so well)
Unless your Commo is running a V6/V8 2 stroke, in which case you're gonna have a looooooooooot of trouble making enough room for expansion chambers, assuming 3.8L/5.7L.
If you want more air, you need to go faster and use a bigger scoop...the air is like ice cream, and your car wants to mix it with petrol and burn it as some form of ghetto napalm to make it go faster to get more ice cream and make more napalm and so on and so forth.
Probably c&a auto fashion in Blackburn.
A few mates have had their cars worked on there and where pretty happy, and have kept on going back
