Hey guys,

Just bought myself a VU SS ute, Looking to put a OTR induction kit on it, Can someone tell me the best place to shop for 1 of these kits, Ive looked on ebay but the kits i seen on there just look pretty ordinary to me.

You will need to get a mafless tune in order to get an OTR to fit.

Most tuners will do a package deal.

No you don't need to get a Mafless tune, ramjet do Maf or Mafless version an i had a cheap OTR off ebay that let you keep the Maf aswell. To get the most out of your OTR you should get a Mafless tune.

Are there any specific brands i should be looking for, I see so many different 1's available.

There are a heap of threads on here about OTR's between the the top brands DUSpeed,Ramjet an Vcm (there are more) there is probably only 2-3kw in it. so it come's down to personal choice really, i have a ramjet an love it, there are others on here that hate ramjet an swear by duspeed.

Duspeed is probably the most aesthetically pleasing. Was going to get a Ramjet when I had mine tune at Hi-Torque but they offered me a aluminum one to save having to bash the crap out of the A/C condensor.

Ive looked at quiet and the seem to vary from $300 - $600 mark, Are they worth the money?

You get what you pay for, i had a cheap $300 ebay jobbie an it lasted 6 months before it cracked. yes they are if you are going to do more mods like tune, full exhaust, cam ect but if your just going to put a OTR on then i would say no it is not worth the money.

I have already got an exhaust fitted, Might go a cam later on down the track but i am not looking to go turbo or supercharged.

I have spoke with my local dyno shop, They said roughly around 1700 to supply a VCM OTR, fit and tune.

Does that sound reasonable?

you could catch the spirit of tasmania to melbourne and get a otr/tune there for cheaper

Yeah i thought it sounded expensive, Im not to keen on spending that kinda money just for an OTR and tune.

They said a tune alone is $1100 :O

I contacted these guys, Doubt ill ever go there if they charge like that.

I got a package deal a while ago, cost me $1000 for tune and OTR. Normal price is $900 odd for tune and depending on the OTR $400-600. Went from 204rwKw to 230rwKw. Made the auto behave a lot nicer and the throttle response seemed to improve a fair bit. I'm yet to get out to the drags to get a time difference but will make an attempt to get out there in the next month or two.
