I googled electronic fuel filter and came up with nothing, as I suspected, there is no such thing.

Go to Repco. "I need a fuel filter for a VT".. done.
Crank angle sensor... why? Do you have ignition issues?
Oil filter.. If your changing the oil.. Part Numb is Z154
Spark plugs.. Inspect them first but if its been a long time since they've been done then may as well.

the vt is having those stalling issues , on hot days comin to lights... yada yada yad blah blah , you know the rest ,so fuel filter is first on my mind,
was wondering if there was an eletric fuel filter... anyhow seems theres not,
im guessing a electronic fuel regulator is different :/ ,
the cam sensor change due to it stalling, and possibly crank angle sensor too
spark plugs cause i dont think they have been changed
and the leads ...may as well

the car has 180xxx ks so its time to change

Crank angle sensor- either works or doesn't. Regardless of weather conditions.
Cam angle sensor- only control sequential injector pulse. Will not effect the way a car runs.
Fuel pressure regulator- wont cause it to cut out on a hot day.
If your dash light come on and then it cuts out, change
Your battery terminals and earth leads.

Check your fault codes to see if there are any codes related to the cam and crank angle sensors, no point in replacing them if they aren't faulty.

canister purge came up as a code and i dont have an air box so that sensor came up, i can drive for hours without stalling but on shit days when traffic is backed up it dies then starts 3 mins later...dash lights up, battery light and all come on, revs drop to 500 and bounces to 700 and then dies...

My daughter's VR kept breaking down when hot, replaced the CAS (there was a fault code for the CAS) and it still kept happening. I then replaced the fuel pump and it hasn't stalled since. One possibility.

Same with my mate simmo's VQ Stato, fuel pump solved that issue for him.

First de-pressurise the system by removing the fuel pump fuse and starting the engine, it will run for a few seconds and stall, then turn the engine over for about another 5 seconds (it won't start).
There will still be a little bit of fuel in the filter so watch your face.
Because the filter is up higher than the tank petrol won't keep flowing out.

The fuel pump fuse is in the engine bay. To release the fuel lines from the filter, push the black plastic bit towards the filter, then squeeze the tabs on that plastic bit, then pull the fuel line off, hard.

does the system need to be bled after running out? Or just replace fuse and away we go?

Just replace the fuse and turn it over, it might not start first go but it probably will.

The only symptom a blocked fuel filter shows is that the car will not go fast. Other than that it will run fine.
