temp gauge in my vt is faulty

hey all.. unsure if this has been covered but couldnt find anything in the search but any way, i flushed my radiator the other day and now my temp gauge is playing up. when the car isnt running its right at the bottom but when i first start the car in the morning it jumps up to just below the first line. what is the problem, it was fine before i flushed it?...

maybe need to change your temp sensor its just under your thermostat housing

Have you bled the cooling system properly? The temp gauge wasn't working on my VS and I found out it was because there was still air in the system. The temp sender only works if its covered in coolant.

unsure if i did it properly.... i took the top hose off the radiator and the bottom.. ran the water through the top till it came out the bottom clean.... then took the thermostat out and ran it through there till it came out clean. then put it all back together... started the car and ran the heater and filled it up till it was full. same with the resivior.... now im finding that ive gotta put water in more often.. never had to before this..

sounds like u havent bled the system yet and u may have air trapped in the lines somewhere so bled the system 1st and see how u go. make sure u keep the heater on while doing this aswell.

on top of the thermostat housing theres a bleed screw, run the car 4 about 10mins 2 build the pressure up and then unscrew the beeld screw until u hear air escaping, close and open it a couple times if need b, coolent will spit out at a constant flow after all air is out then just tighten up the screw again.
