Default VT - VX front conversion

I know that this question has come up a few times but all i can find is for other makes/other front bars

I just picked up a VX ss front bar as a freebie which im going to repair and paint up for my wagon, I know i'll have to replace the mounting brackets as the passenger side is broken and i'll have to get the VX style headlights.

APART from this, is there anything i'll have to get to change the bars over?

    Cheers

Check out my VT BERLINA WAGON

Yeah bonnet and front guards should be the same, so what you have said is all you need to replace.

You might need to change the plastic inner guards that bolt onto the lower front edges of the bar as they are a different shape. The brackets are a pain to replace as they are heat welded on. I replaced one of mine with a VT one as they are stapled on .One way to make it more secure is to fit the plastic screw/ plugs that hold the bar to the inner bar . Have a look on the bar underneath where the numberplate goes. These were deleted on some VX models .I found that spraying the inner bar with white paint around where the holes are so its easier to see them to fit the screws.

You will actually need to change your front reinforcement bar that runs between your chassis rails as the VX one has small cutouts to provision for the tear drops. Shouldn't set you back more than $70 at the absolute maximum. Also just in case you hadn't realized the Orion Silver on your VT is not the same as the Quicksilver that came out on a VX so you will need to respray your front bar.

I also have a VT Berlina exactly the same as yours but with high k's so I'm selling it next week Got me a VX II Berlina in Delft Mica with 127,000 on the clock for $2,600 to replace her!
