Is a LSD hard to DIY rebuild ?

Iv'e recently installed a LSD into my VX, i've had it in the carport for 2/3 years now. I was told it was from a VY SS ute with 40,000.
It looks like i got screwed over there's all these noises coming for it when i take off or in reverse. Is it a big job to attempted to rebuilt or should i find a local diff shop? anyone know how much it would be to get rebuilt?

Wouldn't even attempt a self rebuild on a diff centre. Leave it to the specialists.

Looking at nearly a grand for a rebuild as far as I know. You have to be really carefull when buying diffs and what not.. People always say it has less k's then what it's actually done!

Not if you want it to last.

did you change the oil and put the additive in it when you installed it? these things will always help but these diffs are always clunky even when rebuilt, if its whining its needing a rebuild for sure.

Its not something that can be done by the garden variety backyarder. It can easily be stuffed up. Leave it to the professionals
