Vx II S Acceleration Issue

Hi i currently own a Vx II S Commodore its done 160,000 k's and has the eco tec v6 engine. as much as i love the car i have an issue under hard accerleration. Whereby putting your foot to the floor causes the car to change up through the gears. Once reaching 60 km/h and above the noise continues and only gets worse. Having checked the spark plugs and leads im baffled at wat the problem may be ( note the engine is a loud groaning/scraping noise)

Don't like the sound of that, do you give your engine a hard time, check your TPS and IAC, give your TB a clean while your at it. Check your tranny fluid.

When was the last time your tranny got serviced??

Are you sure it's engine related and not suspension or something? And maybe check your exhaust out
