Ive got a VT. When it rains, water gets onto the rear drivers side floor. With the recent rain, it has gotten quite bad. Its a patch near the shaft cover. I cant feel water near the edge and I dont see how it could get past the seals.
Has anyone experienced this?
Lol exact same things happening to my vt and can not find a leak anywhere for the life of me it's like it's coming throught the floor.
Look under your car there are rubber bungs in the floor. Quite common for them to come dislodged

take the door trim off and ensure the plastic sealing up the door cavity is sealed all the way around.
I just fixed this in my VT.
While you are there ensure that the door drains are clear.
I have the same problem, only it was a small pool of water sitting on the internal door rubber of the rear passenger door on the driver's side. I removed the door trim and found that the water was seeping through the seal at the bottom of the plastic water deflector after I sprayed the door with the garden hose. The water was gushing through the door strip. This has probably been happenning for years and the water just ate throught the mastick that's used to attached the water deflector to the door. I have had no luck in finding the mastick to repair the leak. Another poster on the forum has recommended using race tape to fix the seal.
Mummbles, what did you use to fix to repair the leak?
Hi Sam,
Can you post photos of the deflector you are talking about?
Hi Mick
Can you post photos of the rubber bangs you are talking about? What are their purpose?
Sorry VTCommoDude, I fixed the problem without taking any photos. FWIW, I bought new weather strips for both rear doors and the mastick from the local Holden dealer and resealed the deflector. I replaced the weather strips on the doors because I found that they had shrunk slightly over time and weren't limited the amount of water getting inside the door.
If your not sure where the water is coming in from then your going to have look at all possible options and rule them out one by one until you find the cause. Sorry can't help any further. Happy to answer any more questions.
I think I found it! On the inside bottom of the doors, there are little rubber grommets with small holes to drain the water. I noticed that they point over the door seal. So if a lot of water gets in the doors, it goes straight over the door seal and onto the floor. I cleared them out and drilled small holes in the very bottom of the door, to let the water drain onto the door sill before the seal. Last couple of heavy rainy days... no water in the car. Obviously another design fault by Holden, but a simple fix.
Replaced door seals from Holden, fixed the problem for me.
