2001 VX SS II Questions, Need a bit of help

Hi All

I tried searching but after 10 pages I gave up Hoping someone knows or can point me in the right direction, Couple of things

I'm not a small guy and I find the backs on the factory leather seats to small, if I lean back the headrest sits against my neck when it's pulled out fully (last groove) are any of the other seats from the same series (VX) bigger? HSV? R8? or are they all roughly the same height. Or would I need to go to a newer series?

Also is the seat supposed to lift up and down or just tilt back n forth as the seat was missing the switch cover for the seats so I can only pull the switches.


And lastly after having 3 coffess fall out of the crap cup holders I was wondering if the console around the gearstick/cup holders is swappable with a VY/VZ (Looking at photos their cupholders are bigger) and will it line up with the part around the stereo or do I have to replace it all? (I know I'd have to re wire the window controls more worried about the actual trim lining up)

vx r8 coulsons seats are huge compared to stock ss, but they cost a fair bit of money.

edit, pretty sure the seats should go up and down and backwards and forth. well mine do.

Yeh I've seen the Coulsons in photos, just wasn't sure if they were bigger height wise or just wider

Mine goes up and down but on an angle like / or \ not straight up and down not sure if that's normal?

Any others besides Coulsons? Vy/Vz are they bigger or same?

Might go to my local holden parts place tomorrow and check out prices on the R8 seats, But I'd like to do Front/Back Door trims as mine has matching leather interior on doors D:

holden will charge you an arm and a leg for the seats mate, best to try ebay or wreckers, non leather sets go for about 1000$.

and my guess would be the vy/vz seats are about the same size just a different shape.

Sounds like you are missing the switch thing on the side of the seat, if you press up or down in the centre of the switch the seat goes straight up and down,
if you press up or down towards either end the seat tilts as it travels up or down. Have a look at the pic you will see the switch thing on the side of the seat.

Yeh I'm missing that cover on the switch, the local holden wreckers near me won't sell me one as he wouldn't be able to sell the seat without it and it's not something they keep from broken seats

yer vt seat switches will fit fine as for the head rest they do move forwards n backwards as well as up n down, if ur a big guy i prob wouldnt go with coulsons they might be bigger but i feel they hug u more just a thought b4 u out lay over a grand on them
