Default new wheels and gravel road?

Hey, dont know if im being too paranoid here but tomorrow im getting some VE SSV's put on my car and im just wondering if gravel roads mark/chip your wheels? the road lasts about 2 or 3 k's and i only go 40km/h down it, do i have anything to worry about because if they will damage them then ill put my stock wheels back on until im finished at this site in 3 weeks time or so?
    Cheers

At that speed you should be fine, but they will get very filthy haha

I drive several Km's up a gravel road every day.

    You should be fine.
LOL ...... Unless someone overtakes you while you're doing 40km/hr and throws stones up all over you.

Wheels are the least of your concerns. Stone chips on the car body are much more likely.
I haven't seen any stone chips on the wheels of family cars that do heaps of gravel roads at 100km/h.

Either way, there is a product, I think Repco sell it, you paint on a clear film over the front of the car, can't see why you couldn't put it on your wheels, and when finished you just peel it off, street machine covered it a couple of years ago.

I never go faster than 40kmph on my gravel road. i dont follow to close either, but my bonnet and bumper look like the surface of the moon. the paint was immaculate six months ago when I bought the car

thanks for the replies guys, haven't noticed any extra chips on the body YET maybe the mud flaps are helping as much as i hate having to put them back on, going to make the new wheels look bad since its not lowered yet either lol, might have to look into that clear film, even if i cant use it on wheels ill put it on the front, also what would be a good tyre cleaner/foam they gonna get real dusty, i bought some Meguiars hot rims non acid wheel cleaner for the wheels.

Do they have some degree of lip? This will protect them from stones. When your cleaning them hose/water blast as much of the dust off before you try clean then or you'll scratch them cleaning them

To be honest I'd be more worried about driving a lowered car on gravel all the time than one with rims.
