Gday guys,
I know there are some similar posts here relating to this, but nothing exactly the same. Just wondering your thoughts on what's up:
Whenever I travel on the highway for an hour or so, the 'check powetrain' light comes on, and the 4sp auto wont downshift properly. For example when going up a hill today at 100kmh speed limit, I had my foot flat on the floor and I only just made it to the top of the hill going about 70kmh still stuck in 4th gear! Around town, it will rev to about 2500 max and change with a loud clunk.
The stupid thing is, I can fix it by just stopping and starting the car, and it will be completely fine for about another hour of driving, then it starts again randomly. Does this mean it's an electrical fault? Or is the transmission on the way out? Car's got about 175,000km on the clock.
Cheers, any help appreciated.
Now im gonna say something crazy, but might be best to get someone check your powertrain
I know, crazy idea
They can check for electrical codes if any being thrown up.
