Default Run-in with a Prado in the Autobarn car park

So I went around to Repco and Supercheap to look for some 7.4amp fuses to stock up my collection. They both didn't have an assortment kit of what I needed so I went to Autobarn and not even a few seconds after finding out they don't even have any in stock, someone runs into the shop saying "there's a white VT commodore that just got hit by a Prado".

I walk out to find this

(Photos taken at home, was no time to take them there as I had to get home to perform a sale of my factory head lights)

View of the back of my wing.

View of the LHS mounting location under wing.

View looking up under rear garnish.

View of RHS of bumper under Rego plate.

View of RHS Boot mounting location of wing.

View of where boot sits down/garnish/RHS tail light.

Nah not really a cool story. Yeah bad luck that I parked in that spot. Well yeah I like them so yes.

Haha but the wing is the style that drops down the sides not the boring flat one. But yes I have taken a few looks without it and I'm tempted to get a boot with no wing but I like the style of it. Macregor Autobarn. The 2 owners (married couple) were there and they were really helpful, photocopied the drivers license and said I can use the security camera footage if I need.

Autobarn carparks usually are quite small directly in front of the front doors and alot of the time people are out in the car park doing work on their own cars so chances are a few people saw it happen and he had to write a note, either way...very lucky that he did.

Agree, you very lucky that someone dobbed him in.

Most ppl these days do runners but there are some honest ones out there as well.

More then likely this will be a unwanted hassle, so good luck and hopefully be back on the road with positive happiness

Dropped it off at the local Suncorp Assessment Centre this morning with the wing in the back seat. I Took off the mounts because I have suspicions they would bodgy them up and reuse them.

Here's the results of the repair.

    What they did:

    Painted the boot.
    Painted the garnish.
    Painted the rear bar
Replaced the wing with a Clubsport wing & painted it.

    Pretty impressed!

looking good with the new paint
similar thing happened to me last Xmas,I just finished shopping at the mall, got into the car, started, checking my rear view mirror b4 I put into gear and reverse, saw a car reverse very quickly towards my car,b4 I even had chance to beep,it backed into my car, driver tried to do a runner, but I got off the car and stopped her.
my rear bumper was dented, insurance replaced my rear bumper, got a ride home in a 300c while they are fixing my car, picked me up with a ve statesman when they finished, driver in black suit, even opened door for me,quite impressed with the insurance company, called me twice afterward to follow up asking whether I'm happy with their job.

Yeah I didn't like it at first but I'm just glad I don;t have the boring flat wing.

They had to get a clubsport wing because they couldn't find any mounts for my wing.

Always reverse IN to parking spaces at the shops, that way you are better off when pulling out, if you reverse into anyone in the future who is just driving along normally, no matter what they do wrong...you will legally be in the wrong and your insurance will get done for it, you were just lucky they were also reversing.

I just passed an SS & I think you're right. I might try to find some mounts for my old wing cause I really like how the old one sweeps down beside the rear quarters more than the SS wing.
