Ok so I get the airbag light every time I start my car as of about 3 weeks ago. I hadn't done any work on my car the night before. I had driven it after doing work without the light coming on so it couldn't be that I started the car with no airbag.

I bridged pin 5 & 6 on the connector under the fuse panel cover to see if there was a fault relating to SRS - no faults just kept flashing 12.
Work I have done:

Changed from standard clock spring to calais 3 wire clock spring
Installed steering wheel controls

have you removed your seats without unplugging the battery?

How long after installing the clock spring did this happen?
You won't be able to read SRS codes by bridging pins 5 and 6, you will need a compatible scan tool.

At least a month after.

Since my last post I have:

Disconnected/connected clockspring
Disconnected/connected airbag & horn.

Still no change.

you need to see an auto lekky, who has a tech2 tool and they will clear the fault, should be cheap, also holden can fix it.

no your airbags might not work, so if your an accident, and your airbags dont deploy it can void your insurance.

Well, thank you for the sharp reply, and the information it contains.

I'll just add it to the list!
Turns out if you rise the auto-seats too much, it can break them! trying to resolve this didn't work, might have to go into holden and fork out the cash..

Voiding of insurance seems a bit harsh, given the likelyhood of smashing your face being the only issue - and insurance doesn't cover that!

Regardless, thank you.

No worries mate.

with my old VT, Holden done it for free, its only about a 40-50$ job.

Yeah well if your airbags aren't in fully working order, your car is classed as not being road worthy.

Could that have happened to me?

Is it as simple as pulling off the panel with the switch alongside the seat?

What else could trigger an SRS fault?

I might go to a Holden dealer in the next couple of weeks if nothing much comes from this thread.
