What exactly is involved in checking & changing an ABS module on a VT V6?

i have done a search on here & it would appear i might have a faulty ABSmodule.
the warning lights that are coming on are ABS,engine, traction control, airbag & oil pressure.
whilst it is very colourful with all the red & orange lights not to mention musical as every light seems to have its own different chime lol. i don't think it is good & probably should be fixed.

is it ok to keep driving until it is fixed?

can the module be disconnected until it is replaced?

thanks

hmmmm, might also be your trac ctrl cos its linked up to the abs but you'd want to make sure that it is definately the abs before you replace the module cause it may also be something else.

The easiest way to check if its the ABS module is have the car running when all the warning lights come on unplug the ABS connector & see if the oil pressure light goes out, if it does the abs module is faulty.
To replace it you need to undo the two 13mm nuts holding the module/pump assy in & lift it up, undo the small two pin connector on the lower front edge, undo the six torx bit screws holding the module to the pump.
fit the new module in the reverse order.

Cheers Rob

thanks for that

by the ABS connector i assume you mean the wire coming out of the module,
the one i've circled in blue in the picture?
would taking the ABS fuse out give the same result?
the problem is only intermittent at the moment.i don't know if this is how they normally go.

when the module is replaced does anything need resetting computerwise?

sorry for all the questions but i just want to make sure i'm not out of my depth on this one even though it sounds easy enough.

thanks again for your help

yes the connector has a sliding lock type of setup, just under the wiring you have circled there is a tab thing that slides out disengaging the connector

thanks Rob
it did it once again yesterday so i took out the ABS fuse & put it back in
the lights went away & haven't come on since.
when it does it again i'll take the connector off.

if i replace the module does the computer need resetting?

thanks

no, but there will be some history codes stored in the instruments etc, get them cleared when you can

Hey guys

I'm just new to this and I have a 2000 SS I just started having similar problems I'm not that technical savy but the diagram would help me out indeed. Is there anythingelse I should be worried about.

Any idea how much the ABS module would cost me.
