Default LPG on 97 VT Acclaim

I have a 97 VT acclaim and am thinking about converting to LPG. I was told by one mechanic that VT's don't like that and you have to get the valve seates hardened if you are going to do this. I have noticed by doing a search that many people have got VT's on gas. Are you having any trouble and did you get work done on the valve seats before hand. I was wondering if an upper cylinder lube would make any difference.
    Thanks in anticipation
