Default Help. Locked out of my VX.

Hi, I'm hoping you guys can help me. I own one of the 6 semi-official HSV (UK) imported VX R8 Clubsport over here in the U.K. The car is badged in the U.K as a GTS, (the GTS is badged as a GTS-R over here). But is identical to a R8 Clubsport, with a few changes to make it legal over here.
My car also has a Vortech S/Charger fitted in addition to a few other mods.
Previously I owned an HSV VT.
Problem is the battery is totally dead & the car is deadlocked.
There is no boot lock & the trick of forcing the key hard in the lock is not working.
Does anyone know how I can get into either the car or open the bonnet without causing any damage?

or discon the battery leads, use jumper leads to connect from a charged battery to your cars leads, then use your remote or key to unlock the car..

Not the best way to test your vehicle security system.

Seriously, would it be possible to hook jumper leads to the battery from underneath the car itself? Would be a paid-in-the-ass but it may be possible... just don't have the leads attached to other battery when you do it otherwise you'll short out.

    Just an idea.

try to get on the open side of the starter from underneath, that might run back to the battery, then just put the - on the body somehow

Yeah, might go up and see A57 HSV with my car, so that he can have something to compare with. Bit of a buggar really, that when the battery goes flat, all over red rover.

Thought about trying to trace whether there is a place to be able to get a charger in to charge it up. Is there not a diode between the starter and the battery? May not be able to charge it that way. Will have to check out the Haines manual when I get home.

forcing the key will override the deadlock, the button doesnt come up but the door unlocks, try the handle after turning the lock HARD to the unlock position, it clunks & feels like it breaks but it will be ok.

Thanks Guys, Having never actually used the key to open the car I'm not sure which way the key should be turned to unlock the car. Can someone please confirm if It's clockwise or anti-clockwise.
I've tried both ways very forcefully, lifting the handle as well. Seems the Vx has improved security over the VT & no boot lock!

Hi Guys, The above link is for the HSV/Monaro forum. As you probably know, you can buy a Vauxhall Monaro (Aus. CV8) & Monaro VXR (Aus. HSV) over here.
For a couple of years, you could get HSV's from HSV (UK). But that folded due in main to a change in emmission laws over here.
See http://www.hsvdriversclub.co.uk/home/ for details & pics. etc. of the approx. 60 cars that were sold via HSV (UK).
I've had two HSV's since Sep. 2000 & I'm gutted that I cannot buy a new 4dr over here anymore.

I'm in!!! What I was doing wrong was trying to forcefully snatch the key across, this had no effect, which made me think that maybe security had been changed on the VX (the boot lock was removed on VX onwards).
Anyhow, having 100% established that on a VX the key direction to unlock is clockwise. When I got home I slowly applied a scary amount of pressure on the key, to the point where I thought the key might snap, and heard the very satisfying clunk of the door unlocking.
Many thanks to all who replied on here & by email & the kind offers of help.
    Very much appreciated indeed.
I must admit to feeling a bit of a plonker, but with the exception of my Jensen, which has been off the road for a few years now, the last time I had a car that was opened/closed using a key, was 12 years ago.Oh well, live & learn. At least we all know what to do now. I heard stories of doors being wedged apart etc. No need for the brick treatment either!
