Check out this site.
Should be able to find all you need to know.
The supercharged 6 cyl SS was only released in a series one VTOriginally Posted by Mr.VT.SS
The ss comes standard with fe2, i think its only on some s packs.
There is a bigger boot spoiler on the ss.
Also lsd on ss.
from what seen.... its seems that S is V6 and SS is V8...
Yeah, in the VT series VT S, from the factory. They have FE2, Power Windows, Cruise Control, Body Kit, Mags (16"). Ordinary bucket seats.
VT SS had V8 (of course) body kit, bigger rear spoiler, 17" mags. FE2, LSD, Cruise Control, Power Windows. Sports bucket sears. SS embroided into seats and back upper seat. Fog lights.
Now LSD, fog lights can be asked to be put in the VT S range (for any commodore for that matter.)

Not always the case...remember the VT S1 SS's came with the Supercharged V6 option as well as the 5L option. They are quite rare.Originally Posted by Jesterarts

That would be due to it being manual. Cruise was only fitted to Auto's back then. I think you can get factory cruise on the manuals now though (deactivate with clutch and/or brake pedal)Originally Posted by vtss5spd

Thats correct. It was called the 'power pack'. Power windows and ABS came together. If you dont have power windows you are most likely missing the ABS module under the bonnet too.Originally Posted by Mr.VT.SS

its more $ or $$ , then theres a model called HSV which is $$$
Yeah, My uncles vx ss 6spd came with cruise, BASTARD!! ( 5.7L, 6SPD, VX...)
He just has all those little extra things..... besides a sunroof hehehe
VX S has - SS Body kit with S pak wing, 16 inch alloys. Options include standard 3.8L V6 or 3.8L Supercharged V6, Cruise Control, FE2 Suspension Traction Control and Fog Lights (I have all the options on my car)
VX SS has - SS Body Kit with larger rear spoiler, 5.7L Gen III V8, 17 inch VX SS rims, Cruise Control, FE2 Suspension, Fog Lights and I think Traction Control (have seen some with out it) Plus LSD.
VX S packs go for about 18k-25k. VX SS goes for 20k-31k
Tried to save myself but myself keeps slippin' away...

Totaly different floor pan.
In our Vt S my mum used to complaun because there was a hump in the pannenger foot well that for some reason made her sit uncomfortably.
When we got the ss she said that it was much better because she could put her feet flat.
Now she sits in my VT exec and says that the humps back.
So i think the exec and s being a 6 have the same floor plan and the models with the 8's must be beefed up but dont quote me on that.

You can get a lot farther with a kind word and a gun than a kind word alone
The passenger floorpan hump is actually a VT S1 trait. It should dissapear from VT S2 onwards (regardless of engine fittted)
Mine has that annoying lump toobut I dont very often sit in the passenger side seat
