Hi all..
looking to upgrade my exhaust system - nothing crazy, just cat back.
I've been told Redback bolt on 2.5" Mandrel bend is the way to go for my VX S-Pack.
How much should i be looking to pay - installed with tip(s)?
Or are there any people you know in the Sydney area you can recommend?
Cheers,..
*.....bump*
well im in hervey bay queensland.
and it between 290 and 320 for a 2.5 inch sport system from the cat back.
most exhaust places will have them cause there a fully made system not custom built so it is a lot cheaper.
and most of the places throw in a free tip.
Mate I recommend Windsor exhaust centre!!
They're out at Richmond, but they did my VX 6 banger and I recon it has to be one of the best sounding sixes I've heard. Doesn't drone at all!!!
Not trying to blow wind up my arse. . . .
I paid 370 with a VT oval tip on mine.
Thats cat back 2.5 btw.
Oh and they bend them there, its not a "brand name" zorst.
Hope this helps ya.
Cheers, Keegan
Stoke my ego, click the scales!!!
Stoke it!!!!
LOVE IT!!!!!
interesting..
i rang an exhaust place in parra the other day.
The guy quoted $390 for a 2.5" cat bak redback exhaust system, dual muffler and two tips.. mentioned something about heatproofing it too?? i dunno..
but from what you guys tell me it seems like a decent price![]()
i paid for $900 for a 2 1/2 inch lukey fully custom exhaust system, on my VX S pack.
Dual hotdogs at the rear of the car with dual chrome tips
Tried to save myself but myself keeps slippin' away...

I had a lukey on my old car (VS wagon) I found it droned heaps!
How does yours sound?

HEAT PROOFING.... i read that when you tow and fit a tow pack.... there is a heat shield in the pack that protects the tailshaft center bearing..... maybe this is what they was talking about...
dual hotdogs at the back you coppied me
lol

deserthead, how is the zorst sound on gas? Is it much different to petrol?
And to anyone with a redback 2.5 inch with a hotdog, how is the sound? My car is very very quiet as is, and I don't really want to disturb the noise at low revs (highway cruising or idling), but I'd love to make a good note at high revs..
What do you reckon's the best? I've found a redback 2.5 zorst for $350, apparently it's easy to bolt on too. I have ramps and shit to do it..
Thoughts?
Got one fitted.. A 2.5 inch catback with a hotdog at the back, instead of a resonator. No droning at all, car only comes alive when I rev it, otherwise it's quiet..
A dual outlet exhaust tip too..
All up $395..
$395... damn thats harsh.
i paid $270 for my 2.5 catback and fitted it myself, took me under 1hr to fit it. Sounds awesome![]()
This one had a lot of custom welding, with custom pipes running through etc. It got exactly the result I was after.
All the quotes I received were about the $320-350 mark for a fitted cat back exhaust.. Apparently most don't include tips..
hey shounak where did you get ur exhaust done at?
IMPOSSIBLE IS NOTHING.
Taken any new pics?
Nahh I'll get some pics. But this exhaust sounds f*ckn unbelievable.. It sounds tough as anything..
I got it done at The Muffler Man in Prahran.. http://www.themufflerman.com.au/
Good thing about this guy was he let me in the workshop and under my car the whole time. I was chatting with the young guy who was doing the install. Young guy had VT/VX which is off its tits, so he had some good advice..
Worth the extra money for the good service I received..
I thought you wanted a 'standard' style exhaust tip,and not anything too 'ricey'.Be careful , people may now want to take you at the lights thinking your behind the wheel of an 8 cylinder.Originally Posted by Shounak
Yeah I was after a normal one initially. The guy just fitted it, he reckoned it would look the best and I just gave a nod. I didn't look through the whole selection..Originally Posted by beeks
Yeah two people have tried to race me so far and I've only had the thing for a few hours.. I dun care, they don't seem to like when I take off normally..

BTW ive got a 2 1/2 that's just like your shounak quite when it needs to be.
