Shorten VT1 Gear Shift - Can it be done?

Gday All,

Im wanting to shorten the gear selector on my VT1 SS 5sp to be similar to that of a 6sp. Does anyone know of any kits or anything like that available?

If not, has anyone ever done it another way?

If your handy you can cut out a 2"-3" piece in the middle, V both ends of the cut and run a high amp weld round it then grind it down.
That will hold if you prep the weld properly.

Or you can spend $800 on a B&M short shifter.
