best oil for a Gen3

Can anyone tell me the best oil for my vt ss (gen 3) ?
I figured mobil 1 but not sure

Mobil 1 is the best mate, ur rite. I would not use anything else, do not use the Castrol oils mate. The only other one I might consider would be the fully syn Pentrite...

My old man has a gen111 and the advise he was given was use a yank oil, given that it is a yank engine. he uses penrite and has had no problems what so ever. Outside of that i would definatly use a synthetic oil

penrite is actually an australian oil! pennzoil is a yank product

Holden (as per the owners manual) HSV and
most engine builders recommend Mobil1 10w-30 for the LS1 engine...
the only other one I have seen used is Penrite
..HPR15 I think...or was it HPR50...anyway, the semisynth one...

Magnatec is being pushed also by Holden engineers.. used it last 3 oil changes and it seems pretty good..

for ur tranny anyway Royal purple is the go 4 sure bit on the dear side but very good stuff

I use royal purple with no issues. It's sure sticks in the engine though takes awhile for it to run back to the sump to get a reading. At least it's doing in job then.

hmmmmm why you going with standard oils? i only have a V6 but i run Motul or Royal Purple oils
