Car wont start

I've got a 1998 vt acclaim, took it for a drive to a mates place, turned it off and came back 5mins later and it wouldnt start. After the accessories turn on the ignition it is just loose. The car doesnt do anything but the radio remains on no matter what.

Does anyone know anything about this?

sounds stupid but have you checked if your in park or nuetral
only say this cause a friend said they had a flat battery and ******** had it in drive lol

No I tried all that, I cant understand what it is. After the accessories turn it doesnt even click.

check all your fuses maybe could have a short or something in regards to ignition
when you turn the key have you tried turning it back and forth really quickly, the sensor in you key might be rooted

yeah i think it is the ignition barrell. Does any1 know how to get it off the steering column?
