    Default Engine Check Light

I just had my alternator replaced, and my engine check light is staying on.
any way to reset it? or has anyone had this problem?

    cheers.

Was it a change over alternator or a second hand one. If it was the latter it might be faulty. Check all the connections to the alternator and battery for loose connections.Connect a voltmeter/ammeter to the battery ond alternator.Make sure you are getting around 14.7 volts.

Ok, to check pull the engine fuse for around 10-20 seconds to clear the codes, then get it up to operating temp or drive it for around 10kms then do a fault code test and get back to use with what it comes up with.
Could be as satos said, could be as simple as when installed they knocked something loose.

Look in the How-to section on this site, basically there is a connector under the steering column, you have to bridge two of the pins out with a paperclip or similar.
The check engine light will then flash giving the code.
Its all explained in the how-to..................I wrote it up
