    Default GTO tail-lights + garnish

Greetings, i am planning on upgrading my lights and garnish to GTO lights and vx boot garnish. just wondering is the best/cheapest place to buy ebay? and which lights would look better in a white vt? see the two attatched.

Also i need a garnish but i cant find where to buy one, anyone know of where i can buy one? preferably cheap, and already sprayed white if possible, or if anyone here has one for sale?

i have just put monaro tail lights and vx garnish on my vt. i was looking around for a while and got the monaro tail lights off of ebay for $150. i then got a vx garnish from the wreckers for $88 and then i just had to get it painted $120 and then my conversion was done. Not sure if it was cheap but i knew i couldn't get a vx garnish already painted the same cause my colour was only a VT colour. hope that helps.

GTO lights look grouse! Go for them. Ebay is probably going to be your best bet.

i was going for them... but there are some with the chome around the edges of the light itself and the others are all black, as you can see in my first post, i was wondering what you guys think would look better.
Does anyone know of any stores i can purchase an unpainted vx garnish?

The attached file is the look im after.

Below is a pic (sorry about the crap picture) of the burg design GTO lights (no longer made), they look okay but aren't put together all that well.
Difference between GTO/Burg is the reflectors below is the GTO type

JHP in Melbourne and ebay sell the GTO lights and they go for $400 plus. For a white car maybe the clear type.

As said before ebay might be the best place for a garnish, I picked up mine for a $100 already painted new. Good luck with your mods

I was wondering if there was a store in melbourne that sold these? I could always check ebay. I'm also looking for halogen headlamps and fogs. any advise is appreciated.

good find...that's a good price...only prob. is that they ain't actually genuine lights they are '427 style' tailights...but I suppose 4 tha price it isn't bad...

It isn't that hard 2 change it over...cept tha reversing lights in a VT garnish...u will need to take those wires & plug them into tha tailights (coz that's where tha reversing lights are now...obviously)...as for removing tha garnish...just un-screw everything & it should pop out, in theory...

    Cheers,

I paid $180 for my lights (Genuine Monaro ones with looms and globes) $60 for the garnish new from Holden and then $80 for paint. Under $300 all done and the final product was awesome. But if you wanna be cheap then your going to get a cheap finish like poorly made lights, poorly painted garnish etc. Save money and just have your current VT garnish painted white and then buy new lights + looms, shouldnt be more than just over $200.

the red monaro lights look boring, the black gto ones look solid, ive seen the "vx --> vt boot garnish" on ebay heaps, and the 427 (black gto) lights can be picked up from via ebay too ... i know im not helping much but SSV (Sydney Special Vehicles) does a package includes garnish + lights + wiring looms n stuff for all up roughly 350ish not 100% sure on price, most likely what ill be getting in a few weeks

the black ones look better if you were going for one of those two.
i bought a vx s (silver colour) with the gto ones with the chrome surrounds, but they look gross. bought some brand new genuine monaro ones from ebay ($130 for the pair) and sold the others on ebay. you should be able to pick up a good bargain there. same with the boot garnish.

hey, i found these lights on eBay, something different....and for a bit less than the others. lights i think were about $160

when added to the back end....

i found the whole garnish thing to be a pain in the ass, had to buy one from a crash repairer for $110 and extra $100 to be painted....scrubbed up ok though.
