Hey,
Just today i noticed that i've got abit of a clutch slip when i put my foot down.
Say I'm in 5th on 90, n i put my foot down the RPM goes up heaps, then as it starts dropping i start to speed up heaps....
My question being,
Whats the solution, how much, and should i have it looked at urgetly??
Cheers
How often does it do it? It used to happen to me a heap when before the clutch burnt out on me on my VT S, i think since i have had it replaced, it happened once not long after i got it, and never since then. You may be looking at a new clutch depending on how often it does it
It does it each time i give her abit in any gear.....The rpm goes through the roof n then settles before it actually catches and i get some acceleration...
Its still under the dealer warranty so he should fix it for me...
Go and tell them, they will most liely replace it. Mine was under warranty, should be no problems
i would have thought clutch wasn't covered by warranty? (just because it's a wearable item, kind of like tires?)
how many k's has the car done, out of curiosity? have you had it since new?
Nah, i got the car 2 weeks ago from a used car dealer...
So its under his 3month, 5000km warranty...
Same warranty as mine, it will be replaced without an issue.
Is your car a V6? as the V6 had a dual mass flywheel and if that is stuffed as well this will cost a packet if not covered by warranty.
Sounds like it definitely needs replacing dude.
Yeah, duel mass flywheel.
Yeah..money...lol
Lucky for me the dealer i used wasn't a total prick so we got the work done for a cheaper price through a mechanic he uses and he also chipped in 400 bux..
So a new clutch kit, new bolts, seal, etc only cost me 600 bux!
Instead of the 1200 holden wanted to charge me!
