Digital speedo

Does anyone know how to get the digital speedo as a option in trip computer on a vx commodore. I can enable it when i first turn on the ignition but once u turn the car off it is disabled and you have to set it again when you start the car.

Yeah it can be done cause all cop cars have it so its on at all times... anyone out there know.......

I'd like to know how this can be done also. I would be guessing that you go into the diagnostics the normal way witth e option and up while turning ignition on and select it as an option. Otherwise I got no idea.

I think you have to go to a Holden dealer, and get them to put the Tech 2 on it to enable it. But there is a catch, the speed alert feature is disabled.

A Holden dealer can enable it in the dash & as said you loose the speed alert mode

Ahhh, that explains a lot. I have an ex copper with the digital speedo enabled but no speed alert. Thanks for the tip guys.

yeah same here, VY Exec ex-cop with digital speedo and no speed alert... how can u change it back?

I'd say you'd have to take it to the Holden dealer and ask them to change it back chris87

Yeah they have to use Tech-2 to change it.........

I had my speed alert changed to the digital speedo today (who uses the speed alert anyway, the digital speedo is a lot more useful anyway). They plugged the Tech2 in and a minute later all done. They were gonna charge me $20 but then said forget about it. It's called police mode that is enabled.

Hey mate, you hold the mode button and the up arrow when you turn the ignition on to enable it temp. I have a wh statesman and was wondering if anyone can tell me what all the ther stuff meas on there??? Cheers

Hey about the digital speedo's on VT's onwards you hold the mode and up button with ignition off then turn car on you should hear a sound, then just search thru using the up and down buttons...It is for self diagnostic, it has Battery voltage water temp and more shit aswell all good stuff...glad to help

I took my VT into the local holden dealer and asked them to put it in police mode, and as eveyone else said it disables your speed alert, but who use's that anyway digital speedo is way better.

My local dealer did it for free, but some may charge around $20 to do it, but as i said we use it all the time and never really used the speed alert.

so can you do that to any vt/vx/vy or do you have to pay the dealer $20 to install something first? thanks for the help
