    Default Resetting Trip meter

Hey all, I'm a new holden driver and just purchaced a 50th Aniversary VT executive 1998.

Anyway, I have yet to even put more fuel in the car but I can't work out how to reset the trip meter. Is it automaticlly done when I top up or is there something I press thats hidden?

    cheers

Just press the up and down buttons together for a couple of seconds and it will reset when you release the buttons.

i had a bit of trouble with this one too, but i found that if i HELD IN the right hand button (up arrow) and then TAP the left hand button (down arrow) while holding the right hand button in, it will reset the trip computer.

Either of those options will work. It can be a bit twitchy sometimes, either hit them at the same time or hold one down and tap the other.

Welcome to the forum Tom's 50th Anni,

There must of been a bit of a run on the 50th Model as I just recently purchased my first Commodore Calais; 1998 model. You will find the search engine as well as the daily questions most informative. As to the buttons, I have found them a bit touchy to use as to much tapping seems to freeze them up. But they come back into use if you leave them for a while. Can anyone tell me why this is so?
I have mine set to show me the instant fuel use.
    regards

I think you can put that down to a 15 year old computer/electrics/buttons that weren't that good to begin with.

A little bit late for the welcome to the Forum.

He's been on here since at least March 06.

Have a look at first posting above.

    Old timer,
you are quite right about the date. Can't win them all.
Tell me do those mode buttons pop out of the dash and are new ones still available from GMH?
