Default VT "S" Fog Light install - please help

    Hi,

Will be trying to install a VX SS front bar on a VT series 1 S including fog lights on the weekend.

Basically I am wondering if the wiring for the foggies will be in the loom or if I will have to do my own wiring. If i do have to do my own, does the loom run through one of the guards on the car (ie not directly through the firewall)?

I have used the search function and am still unsure for a VT S pack if the loom is there....I know I will have to buy a relay, switch and fuse..is there anything else I should know?

    Thanks

First check under the fuse cover in the engine bay whether the terminals are installed in the position for the spot lights and that will tell you if the wiring is in place. The wiring was missing from my VTII Berlina so I had to run the wiring through the car and into the fuse box to make it all work. Not too hard a job if you take your time and follow everything.

i put a vx gts kit on my vn tried to get the lights and holden said they are attached to the reo bar so i made some brackets myself so if this is right you will have to run a vx reo bar and i'm 90% sure the wiring isn't there although i could be wrong

Default Yes the wiring is there

I installed foggies on my VTS. There should be a black plug on the left and right hand side at the front. If you look around the guard area from the front of the vehicle, more so towards the radiator, mine were clipped up under there. If you want to use the wiring loom thats already there, you will need to purchase a relay (I got the GMH one) that plugs into the relay box (look at the relay box cover to see where it goes) and also purchase a fog light switch for the dash. Plug for the switch should already be there too. Located behind the dash near the headlight switch. Hope this helps

    Thanks for your replies.

Yes the wiring was indeed there...thank god!

My final concern is that i am not running genuine fog lights- they are aftermarket...if someone who knows could tell me which wire goes to where?
I have wired lights and things before so I probably can work it out...but if someone knows maybe they can same me some trial and error?

From memory (i pulled the bumber off last night) -
on the drivers side the wires are:
Violet with white trace and white with black trace

    on passenger side:
violet with white trace and white with blue trace

    Thanks guys

I can't remember but the easiest way would be to put your switch and relay in. Turn you lights on and have the fog light switch on as well. Then use a circuit test light to determine which one has the power and the other one is obviously negative.

    Hi

thanks so much for your help so far.

i took my cluster surround out and I cant see the wiring for the fog light switch. I had the wiring at the front of the car....shouldnt it also be in the cabin Does anyone know where to look for the fog light switch wiring? I thought it was spliced off the headlight switch wiring but I can't see it..

    Please help...Im so close!

    Thanks
