Default Vt Cubsport Problems anyone have any ideas Please --- Jacqui

    Vt Cubpsport Problems HELP
hey guys thought id come in here and pic some brains as i know you guys in here have more than most of the mechanics ive been sent to lately.
my problem is i bought Vt HSV clubsport 99 model a year ago paid 14,000 yeah got ripped i know and big mistake bought it from a car yard MOTORSPORT in Kenwick SO DONT GO THERE..
    anyways
    MY PROBLEMS
looked over the car when i went to buy it and noticed a slight film in water bottle, being new to the gen 3 asked the salesman to explain. his answer with the new gen 3 they run them with conditioning pills in the water to help the radiators and oil components in radiator. seemed feazable...
    NOPE WRONG
    air conditioner wasnt working..
their answer Just the switch not ligting up
    NOPE WRONG
and the list goes on yeah yeah i know i shouldnt have bought it but hey id always wanted one and seeing how id had a car accident and got a ltitle pay out i decided to buy my clubby, and Lo and Behold i Trusted the Salesman... WRONG again.

Anyways to pic your brains. when i go to open the car with the key, only the left hand front indicator and rear left light work. YET if i open the boot with the key all lights flash. NO ALARM THOUGH.
hasnt had one since i bought it.
i was told BCM bought that No diff
since ive had this car ive replaced in 12 months. the diff cvs starter motor alternator front seal radiator BCM pulleys belts condensor x2 compressor exhaust map sensor oil sensor oxygen sensors relays and fuses

still dont have the alarm or light things worked out
after asking holden they told me that i couldnt put an aftermarket one in as my clubby already had 2 systems come stock with the car..
Any help you guys with this ... today i picked the car up from AWN s warranty people and have 2 cracked side skirts GREAT new ones sell for $620 each sob sob any help would be greatly appreciated

I took a look in the faults section for our VX Accliam and can't see this, how hard is it to remove the front left side inner door trim like are they screwed on our just cliped. Ours had a slight rattle once in a while when we purchaed it 16 months ago and now it has the rattle all the time. I'd say something has come loss inside but I need to know if we can insoect ourselves or is special tool required. I'm the main driver and hubby would rest his leg against the inner trim which stops the noise but now that he works 14 days on at a time theres no one to hold pressure against it and I want it fixed.

hey leo, to take off the inner door trim all you need is a phillips head screw-driver, and a very small flat head screw driver...
use the small flat head screw driver to pry out the little cap you would be able to see on the inner door handle (its a little circle cap, there is a screw behind it),
the inner door handle can then be taken off and from memory there is another screw behind that.

then use the same screw driver to pry the small cap from the door lock (it should be a little red kidney shape cap when the door lock is popped up).
the door lock can then be lifted of and there is another screw behind that.

then there is about 8 or so screws around the outside of the door trim just undo those and the door trim should come free, you will have to pull the bottom out a bit then lift the door trim up, you should be able to see how it is held on...
you will also have to unplug the light in the door.

putting the door trim back on can be a little tricky getting it to sit in properly, and same with putting the inner door handle back on getting the metal rod back on but its a patience thing

    hope that helps

I new to this commodore too, first time i have bought a commodore VTII wagon it was in pretty bad shape . got it cheap.Under $3000 But! it rides worst than my last car. Anyway has a lot of faults , but i haven't got a lot money to fix them. So feels like driving an overpowered horse drawn carriage.

I'm stuck on replacing my wheel bearings , need a tool to remove them. anyone know how or can give me a link to a thread about this?

    Thank you

by using a trusty bent flat blade screw driver after removing the pin on the left side of your trapdoor there is a latchtoward the rear of the bin on the rhs press this in and the whole door assy comes out... if you have a series 1 type(black trigger type) i suggest you replace it with a series 2 type (white trigger type) less problems you dont have to remove any screws to replace the door 2nd hand these sould be $10-$15 or less

I was pleased to see your fix for the little latch on the door under stereo, as I need that repair too.

Also the volume up and down buttons on the steering wheel, are they relplaceable,or does it require replacing the whole R h side unit?
Thanks for your help in advance.
the volume switches are a pair and require the air bag to be removed to change them over(no biggie)disconnect your battery before removing airbag(she can go bang) undo the two torque screws either side unplug from clockspring and refit in reverse as for your stereo try a s/h one

i have replaced the flasher unit with no change, could it be the stalk or relay?

    Anyone had the same problem?

anotherone is the gearshift knob(auto)poping up.. It brakes at the roll pin in the selector .to fix this you must remove the center consol and gear indercator cover, remove roll pin grease new plunger and spring (first remove knob grip by removing screw on front of shifter)the replace grip with new button and push roll pin back in took me about 45mins

    Hi,
I've a got an ABS light displayed on my dashboard on my VT wagon, but brakes still work fine. does anyone know much about the ABS modules on these, and how i can test it or is it likely to be another fault?
    thanks

    Hi there all,

I have a series 1 VX Wagon with the Gen 3 engine. The problem I have is the dash lights are all staying on, as soon as I start the car all the instrument lights come on.
If anyone has any ideas this will be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers

Hello everyone, I would like to congratulate the forum, it is very complete and organized.
I think it has a differential problem in my VT, it seems that he has a backlash when the reverse gear engages. the other problem is the gearbox shift up at low speeds are a bit abrupt.(automatic transmission)

    Thanks a lot..

I have a vx equip. The prob i am having is when we get a very hot day, whilst driving, the engine just stalls. We have had the Crank Shaft Censor replaced, but as soon as we got some very hot weather it started doing it again, after a while it will start again, but if it is still hot it will stall again.. Would anyone have an idea as to what is coursing this.
