Have you tried a ratchet with a long extension. Thats how I get mine out.
Hey all,
Was wondering on how the hell you remove the lower air box from a VT v6 Commodore. Tried on the weekend and i couldn't get the two weird looking screws to move.
Any help would be great.

inside the air box or inside the wheel arch? cause there seems to be a nut inside the wheel arch. And in the air box it has a weird type of head to it.
i havent had a vt for long why u wanner take it out for any way,,also if u want to put a air pod in can u just leave them out of the air box or would it suck in hot air and not cold,,
the weird looking head is called a torx head and needs special torx bits to remove them
i want to take it out to paint it and also thinking about getting a FIT type S CAI.. so it needs to come out evently
They were just bolts on mine.. I used a spark plug ratchet to remove em..Originally Posted by Swift Jimmy
You need a torx bit like everyone else said, can't remember what size it was t-27 or t-30 I think? One of the bolts near the wheel arch, on the outside of airbox is a prick to get at.
I just pull it hard. dont need to unscrew it. There are rubber grommets that allow you to pull it off. The screw just stays in its place. Thats how i do it anyway.
Hey all i tried everything like everyone said to try.. and quess what.. it came out !! that you all for your advice.. i'll post pics of what i did to it shortly.
before u upgrade if that wont be for a while just mod it coz its 10 times better than puttin a pod on n u can get defected for it. just open the inlet up a lil more cut the plastic on the inside around the inlet hole. and put a hi flow filter in it does make a diff
Here is the pics that i promised.. Soz about the quality taken with my mobile.. I thought stuff painting it.. I'll try that DIY cooled intake that is on this forum some were.
What do you guys think? i didn't get to finish were the piping goes at the front cause it started raining.
