Hi there,
our vt executive is missing when we're driving along. We've checked the spark plugs and leads. Can anyone help?
How can it be missing if you're driving it? I don't get it..Originally Posted by ratsmac

If it's not plugs or leads it could be coilpack or injectors, but mostly it's leads. How did you check yours?
COuld also be bad fuel, pulsing fuel pump, bad fuel filter...

replace your plugs....its only 50 bucks......sometimes the insulator can be cracked and you lose spark straight up
$50?? WTF.. I paid $18 for my plugs..Originally Posted by EcotecManiac
What plugs are you using? And I would suggest just changing the leads also.. If you don't notice a difference, keep them for next time..
Very odd on an EFI car though if the plugs and leads are fine..
It's not on LPG is it? Because those are very common problems with gas..
hey shounak, i buy my plugs new mate, not secondhandsorry, that was a cheapshot.....i use bosch super 4 plugs.....they are pretty damn good....i know a lot of people think about spark exposure to the incoming fuel/air mix which the super 4 hinders this a bit, but the plugs on my engine showed a good spark between the electrode and the 4 earth pins....has good spark exposure on the end, much like a centrefire boat engine plug....
when i bought my vt it missed on acceleration only never when idling
worked out to be a bad lead a very common problem
right had side front one
lots machanics have told me to start looking there and what do you knwo it was a very small crap in it
replaced all with 10 mm and never had a prob or missfire since
