take out the stoplight globes, you either have a single filament one in one or a faulty one shorting internally to the park filament.

I agree with Dr BOB. I borrowed my brothers clubsport once and the same thing happened.. Turned out the stop and tail filaments were touching so everytime I put my foot on the brake it fed power through the parker circuit...

    Thumbs up

It was the socket the globe sat in, when the globe was put in it made two connectors touch, it was $38 for new harness (no aftermarket ones i was told by supercheap and repco). Thank god i got it fixed, i went to sydney and it stopped my cruise control from working cause it thought the brakes were on! thanks to all for info, problem fixed...

I thought the cruise was only deactivated from the brake pedal or over revving? I wouldnt of thought a light short would of stopped the cruise working

The cruise works off the brakes electrics. Also alot of people experience this problem with the cruise when they convert their rear globes to leds.

as the cruise uses the brake pedal switch as a safety cutout it wont engage if the brake light circuit isnt within specifications

Yeah the short made brake lights stay constantly on thus cruise control thinks brakes are on. I learn something new everytime i get on this sight and read through the new posts... some can save you $$$ so it makes sense to check here before anywhere else.
