hey guys
i'm going to be re-tinting my windows this weekend. the stuff that came with the car has now gone blurry on the rear windscreen, and there's some scratches on the other windows, so i'm getting rid of the lot and starting again.
living in sydney, the darkest legal is 35%. i'm going to be putting in a stereo soon and dont want anyone to be able to see it and want to steal it etc, so i'm just wondering if anyone out there has 35% tint and if so, can u see in the car through side windows in daylight??
i'm not heaps keen on getting 20% - firstly because it's not exactly legal, but more so i don't want to have to drive around at night with my windows down just to see the side mirrors!
I have a wagon and have 35% on the 4 dooors and 20% on the sides and rear.
Even with the 20% you can stiil see thru.....
If you need someone to tint your windows i can recommend someone in Sydney... he is a mobile window tinter, so he will come to you....![]()
I have 35% tint (Solagard - Formula 1)
No problems driving at day whatsoever, its pretty light.
Only problem I ever have is if im in a street without lights at night looking left and right. Even then you can still see out.
i put 28 all round (except front windscreen ofcourse) and coz of the factory laminate in the glass on the vt it comes up round the 25 mark it doesnt look too dark....havent been hassled by the boys in blue yet.... can see out at night not a problem
depends on legal requirements in your state
im about to have my car redone with 35% down the sides and 20% on the back
ok thanks for that. i'm getting it done at a place in summer hill through a friend.
thanks guys. looks like 20% will be the way to go. i'll drive around tonight in my mate's who has 20% and see what it's like.
my dads old ef ford had 10% and i used to drive it sumtimes at night and could see out no probs, u just couldnt see inside the car,lol
