i voted no kit, i just reckon it will look tougher without the kit & low, also, you wont have to worry about smashing side skirts on speed humps
IMHO the VX SS is the best looking Commodore to date. As for smashing the sills, I think you will be doing serious underbody damage to your exhaust and other underbody components before you hit the sills. I never had a problem with either the VX SS or VYSS. Assuming it's lowered legally you should have no problems.

i own the same car, xvII acclaim, im quite happy with the stock kit. if i stumble across an SS lip for the bumper ill get one but given that they dont look too bad as stock ide be quite happy to leave it.
if u do wanna kit it tho, definatly go the SS kit over the monaro. de badge the ecotec v6 badges and it'll look shmich
afterthought: have u considered a spoiler?
This might help you decide ... then again it might not!
tell me what my car is ...

yeah i have considerd a spoiler but i kinda like it without one if i was to get a wing it would be a hsv vx wing but they are like 750 - 800 bucks for genuine
& thats an s kit isnt it Y2kgoofball
whatever it is its shmick

I voted for the SS kit, they are simple and classy. Whichever way you gone bro I am sure she will look sweet.![]()
i reckon monaro kit but dont put on spoiler it would look tough then
We got rep back, yaaay!
i voted monaro, but i recon u should take the wing off....![]()

Hey,
I think the VX SS kits look the nicest aye. The bloke that i bought my VT off put an SS kit on it and it looks alot classier than the others IMO. Heres a few pics of mine.
Cheers, Shaun.
for those interested .... mine is pure VX Executive Series 1 under that!
The side skirts just clip over the grey bits, as does the bit at the back bottom of the bumper.
The front bar is genuine SS, as are the lights / fog lights, genuine SS spoiler and genuine SS 17" rims.
The car had the stuff (except the front bumper) on when I brought it so I dunno how much it costs, but it does the trick! Looks good too, many mistake it for the real deal.
The SS kits DO look nice, considering the 'stockness' of the car - I wouldn't be going the monaro. Is the S kit the same or is it slightly different? If it was different, I'd be going for that. Changes the body just enough to look sleek (I have an acclaim too, and would love to get a very basic kit to get rid of the crappy black skirting) and it won't give people the impression you're going for an SS or power look.
i like the monaro kits without the spoiler, the ss kit is 2 common
its a very nice car u got there though
thanks all hey where can i go to find out what springs i have on my car, some where that wont cost me a bundle?

Look under the wheel arches to see the colour of the springs..Originally Posted by HVXII

Your height looks to be Superlow at the back and Low or Superlow at the front.. These are King Spring terms.. You will have the equivalent of whatever brand you've got..
I'm guessing it's sitting at about 10cm all around..
its definately not superlow at the front, not quite sure about the back, still think its just lowered
also if theyre somewhere inbetween the 2 blues they could be aurora
check the colours like Shounak said.Originally Posted by HVXII
but you look like you have the exact same setup as i had on my old vt.
low at the front and superlow at the rear.
i had lovells in mine....blue colour springs
yeah they are lovells they are blue thanks guys
